Halloween Party Ideas. . . .?
Ahhh, a woman after my own heart! I am also planning for Halloween at this point. I have a monster (haha) party every year.
If this is your first party it could be expensive, especially with the decorations. I will try to give you some cheapy ideas to start with.
Save jelly, pickle, pasta jars, rinse and take off all paper. Put dry black beans in bottom and add a votive. Place them in big arrangements for the best effect.
Buy black vinyl that comes in big rolls (usually used for plastic table cloths at picnics). Put that all over your walls or tack up across the ceiling.
Get a bunch of white candles and a few red candles. Melt the red and have drips go down the white candle to look like blood dripping down the candle. I have candle holders all over the place along with the empty jars.
Go tot Michael's craft sore, they usually get halloween stuff the beginning of September. They usually put out fliers every week that have 40% or 50% off coupons, or you can download coupons online. Get the big scary tree, black ravens, bats, the big spider webs and spiders. Get the sound machine that does spooky noises. If you can get dry ice that is a great addition - just be very careful it can burn you badly.
Create a graveyard with the spooky tree from Michael's and grave stones from Walmart or Kmart or Value Village.
There are things called scene settings - these are cheap and fabulous to cover up large walls. Use old white sheets, tear them up and cover all the couches and chairs.
Get black streamers, hang them vertically all along your curtains very close together and kinda mush them up. Use the same black streamers to make a fence along your wall. Cut the streams into what ever length you want the fence to be, make the top a pointy bit. Use double sided tape to stick them to the wall, then make a long bit to go horizontally to go across the horizontal bits.
As soon as you see Halloween stuff in the stores BUY IT!! It goes quickly.
Makes large batches of cocktails, I put my in empty 2 liter bottles. Set out a bunch os martini shakers, ice and glasses - let them all make their own drinks. I usually make sour apple martinis, cosmos (yes, kinda lame - but every one loves them.). I make a punch called Strip And Go Naked. Go to www.recipezaar.com and type in that name. It is soooo strong, but so good!
Go to this site - http://www.britta.com she is the queen!
Hit itunes, search for Halloween, witch, ghost, voodoo, monster, etc and you'll get a tons of music. Use even the cheesy (Monster Mash) - it all works.
I have a tons of decorations, so they start slowly easing out around September 1st. Although, right now I have a severed arm in a black wreath on my wall and a broom in my corner!
The most important part of this night is YOU. Get yourself and amazing costume ( www.buycostumes.comhttp://www.halloweenmart.com/http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/rolepla...http://www.anytimecostumes.com/ecommerce/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=showgirl&x=0&y=0)
Plan it all out, write a schedule, get the decorating 90% dome by October 25, do as much cooking, cocktail mixing as you can the day or two before Halloween.
